Just returned from "A Brush with The Broads", a four day plein air painting event based in the Norfolk Broads organised by Linda H. Matthews.
Registering on Thursday afternoon around thirty artists had their chosen supports officially stamped with the ABWTB logo and we were then off to paint within the beautiful Broads.
As it turned out the weather was somewhat challenging but Plein Air painters are stubborn (or just plain mad)!
Friday evening was an opportunity to relax and socialise at the Lion Pub in Thurne.
I returned to paint at Thurne twice where there are great views in all directions.
Evening demos by Claudia Aranceli (watercolour), John Patchett (pastels) and Anne Blankson-Hemans (oils) were appreciated by all.
Two highlights for me were meeting Anne, a fine artist and lovely person, and Haidee-Jo Summers whose work I have always admired.
At the Finale Exhibition Mo Teeuw deservedly won "Best Painting elected by Fellow Artists".
A tough weekend to paint out in but still enjoyable. New ideas to try out and many things learnt.
